May your love be everlasting like a succulent...

Dear Husband,

Happy Valentines Day!

Today I didn't buy you flowers (I know they're a bit too girly for you, anyway). In a week the flowers will be dead. So today I bought you a succulent, and here's why...

Succulents are not as good looking as a rose, but they can still look neat and groovy if you give them the chance. I love you no matter how you look like in the morning, and I'll think you're as adorable when you're 80 as when you're 30.

Succulents are strong. It requires strength to be in a marriage (haha). You're always learning and building your relationship.

Succulents are everlasting. I love you forever.

Succulents can take over the world! You can take a stem from a succulent, replant it and start a whole new plant, over and over again.  (I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Genesis 22:11)

Some succulents (Aloe Vera) have healing powers! In marriage you have power to heal and nurture your spouse.

So today I want you to think about my love being like a succulent. Like a cactus in the desert.

I love you.

Your Wife.
