Organising the linen cupboard

Look at this mess! Just look at it! Okay, it was much worse before I became pregnant and started 'nesting', but still, what an unorganised chaos! Today, a blog that I read inspired me and I got into an organisation mood!

First of all, I pulled out everything in the cupboard. I then put everything in categorised piles.

Empty Cupboard

Categorised piles.
After that, I measured what space I had to work with and noted it all down. I counted my categories and wrote them down too. Perhaps I could fit two categories into one place if there were only little of them.

Taking measurements
Writing down what I need
After this, I went to Sam's Warehouse - Plastic storage heaven! And yes, I took my measuring tape with me. I measured all of these boxes and after a long decision, I came home with 12 boxes in 3 different sizes. (and some aluminum foil... we ran out!)... Oh and it's very important you get boxes with wheels!

Love my Honda Jazz... Excellent storage space!
I got home and repacked all of the bed linen. I put everything in the boxes and then made labels for everything!!!

Only problem is I have too much of some things, so it overflows. But that's okay, because the boxes help keep it in a nice pile. And unfortunately there are only enough room for 2 boxes on each shelf, but I've put some miscellaneous items in to bulk it up.

I feel clean now! :)

  2. Good one Sammy! The first thing I love was you completely removed everything from the cupboard and sorted piles (*proud*). Second thing I love was you got clear storage with wheels you can see what is in there and with wheels you can wheel out kinda like draws. Third thing I love was you labelled!!! The best thing you can do to keep organized is label. I'm super proud of you.
I have a suggestion for you with your sheets (and it may help with the overflowing of the towels etc)... I started writing it here but it might be a bit confusing so I'm going to make a blog post on my blog (with pictures and links) to show you what I mean. So bare with me while I do that.
You can totally take my suggestion on board or if it's not for you dismiss it. I should be able to have it up by tonight.
Thanks for the link too! I'm glad I was able to inspire you and help you make your home work for you more practically.
